Forum to share community safety information and ideas

A community forum in Purnong will provide local residents with the opportunity to come together to share ideas, address safety challenges and discuss SAPOL services in the area.

“As the local MP, I understand that community safety is a critical issue for Purnong and its surrounding areas,” Mr Whetstone said. “Hosting the Shadow Minister in the region offers the Purnong community an opportunity to learn how we can enhance safety in our regions and continue to work with SAPOL to address our community’s needs.”

“The Forum will foster discussion as we work together to improve safety in the Purnong neighbourhood.”

“Residents deserve the opportunity to express their opinions, ask questions around local policing and have those questions answered.”

“That’s why I’m organising this Community Safety Forum - to discuss changes to policing and address any concerns regarding community safety.”

Shadow Minister for Community Safety, Police and Correctional Services Jack Batty added that the forum will examine where police services need to be looked at.

“We’ve got a big shortfall of police officers across the State - and I’m really concerned about how this is impacting our regional communities,’ Mr Batty said. “I’m coming to Purnong to hear directly from local residents how we can make the community safer.”

The Community Safety Forum will commence at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 26th at the Purnong District Hall.

The forum is a free event open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend.
