More than $180,000 injected into sports in Chaffey through beefed-up sports vouchers

The local sports community in Chaffey has benefited from the Marshall Liberal Government’s state-wide sports funding injection.

The beefed-up sports vouchers have proven to be popular amongst South Australians saving mums and dads almost $5 million in just over six months.

The increase in the Program has been triggered by a Marshall Government initiative which doubled the voucher value from $50 to $100 – returning millions back into the pockets of hardworking parents whose primary school-aged children take up local sports.

Since coming into office in March 2018, the Marshall Government has delivered $182,790 through the sports vouchers program into the Chaffey community.

Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing Corey Wingard MP said the funding boost through the sports vouchers program in Chaffey was part of the Marshall Government’s $100 million investment into the sports community across South Australia.

“South Australia is a proud sporting state with a decorated history and the sports community in Chaffey is a big part of this,” said Minister Wingard.

“Sporting enthusiasts in Chaffey have been enticed into playing sport and living an active lifestyle thanks to the $182,790 invested in sports vouchers.

“The Marshall Liberal Government has, and will continue to, invest in the different areas of the sports industry including the grassroots level, sporting infrastructure and the elite level.”

Member for Chaffey Tim Whetstone said it was great to see the community had taken advantage of the sports vouchers on offer and welcomed the State Government funding injection to the grassroots level.

“Participating in sports is a favourite pastime of the community in Chaffey,” said Mr Whetstone.

“We have a tight-knit community and it’s fantastic to see everyone playing sport throughout the year across the electorate.

“The Marshall Liberal Government’s investment of $182,790 has been welcomed with open arms by the community.”
