State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall will meet with industry stakeholders, local businesses and engage with the community during a two-day tour of Chaffey.

Mr Marshall will begin his Chaffey tour in the Mallee today and will travel extensively throughout the Riverland.

“Chaffey is an engine room for food production in South Australia and I’m visiting the region to see firsthand the important role this electorate plays,” said Mr Marshall.

“Regional communities are vital to the future of South Australia and it is important we continue to grow our regional economies.

“I’m looking forward to meeting with the communities in Chaffey and listening to issues of concern for regional South Australia.

“Chaffey has suffered from a Labor Government which has ignored the importance of agriculture and food production in South Australia for far too long.

"Unfortunately for regional South Australians, Premier Weatherill has neglected our regions and thinks our state's border is at Gepps Cross.

"South Australians deserve a Government with better priorities to get our state back on track."

Member for Chaffey Tim Whetstone is hosting Mr Marshall during the two-day tour.

“Riverland small business owners and irrigators are looking forward to the opportunity to voice their issues while Mr Marshall is in the region,” said Mr Whetstone.

“Mr Marshall has a considerable knowledge of small business and in Chaffey we have more than 4,000 small businesses.

“Chaffey is doing it tough at the moment, but the Weatherill Labor Government is refusing to reduce the high cost of doing business which would help small business owners.

“Mr Marshall recognises the importance of issues in Chaffey such as water security and primary production and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him on issues that impact my electorate.”
