The diversity and innovation amongst South Australia’s exporters was recognised at the Business SA 2015 Export Awards at the National Wine Centre today.

Shadow Minister for Investment and Trade Tim Whetstone said the nine award winners demonstrate the export success stories present in South Australia.

“South Australian exporters are working hard to access new markets across the world and it is pleasing to see the diversity of products coming from this state,” Mr Whetstone said.

“Recent free trade agreements present many opportunities for the state’s exporters to expand their footprint across the globe and now we need to support businesses to capitalise on those opportunities.

“South Australia’s economy is underpinned by our ability to export, so it was great to see so many South Australian businesses present at the event who are thriving in international markets”

Mr Whetstone said the annual event provides an important opportunity to recognise exporters who are leading the way in South Australia.

“Accessing a new market takes a lot of time, effort and capital and requires businesses to build trust with their trading partners,” Mr Whetstone said.

“The award winners today have been dedicated to establishing long term relationships to the betterment of growing the economy and jobs in this state.

“South Australia’s continued support for our exporters must be based on the need to have lengthy, strong relationships overseas.

“South Australian Exporter of the Year Sentek Technologies, which was pioneered in the Riverland, is a fine example of a business embracing new technology to adapt to market demand.”
