Renmark Named SA’s Top Tourism Town

Renmark has been recognised as South Australia’s Top Tourism Town for 2022.

The winners of the 2022 Top Tourism Town Awards were announced yesterday by Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia.

Shadow Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, Jing Lee, said she was inspired by the unique histories, stories and beauty of all the tourism towns in South Australia.

“I am incredibly proud of the outstanding regional destinations South Australia has to offer.

Congratulations to Renmark - this award is a testament to the wonderful operators, diverse range of experiences and stunning natural environment that the Riverland is known and loved for.”

Member for Chaffey Tim Whetstone said it was no surprise that Renmark was awarded the top prize.

“I am thrilled that the resilience and innovation of our local tourism operators have been recognised in this way and that Renmark will be representing SA at the National Top Tourism Awards later this year.

“We have our own little slice of paradise on the Murray here and it doesn’t take long for visitors to fall for the charm of the Riverland region.”

“It is a wonderful opportunity to put South Australia’s best regional tourism destination on the national stage and have our region recognised for the fantastic visitor destination that it is.”

Wallaroo and Quorn were also recognised, with Wallaroo winning both the Small Tourism Town Award and the People’s Choice Award, and Quorn being named the inaugural winner of the Tiny Tourism Town Award.

The inspiring awards are delivered by the Tourism Industry Council South Australia (TiCSA), South Australia’s peak tourism body. TiCSA offers winning towns a range of marketing opportunities and workshops to further promote their town to visitors and to increase visitation to their region.
